The following figure shows the area that is to be relinquished from the KP. Work programmes completed over the area of relinquishment, conducted by Straits Resources since 1996, have included detailed followup of the stream sediment results and geological mapping results obtained from previous work conducted by Aneka Tambang in 1994. Work undertaken by Straits Resources included re-sampling anomalous areas outlined by previous sampling. There were no anomalous samples recorded, in the relinquishment area, from this work. Regional geological mapping checking indicated the lack of potential for the area to host significant mineralisation. The area of relinquishment corresponds closely with the area that was also proposed to be relinquished by Aneka Tambang from their work programmes in 1994-5. A.R.H.
