Report on S.K.I.P visit to Sumbawa, Nusa Tenggara
The island of Sumbawa is dominated by Tertiary andestic volcanic products. While no obvious gold targets were seen, the Taliwang District shows may of the features thought to be associated with epithermal mineralization, such as extensive persvasive silicification, quartz veining and argillic alteration. Gold results are however low apart from two samples of a small basaltic dyke which assayed 1.12 ppm Au and 1.14 ppm Au.
